Sulzer macerator - channel series grinder

High torque, low speed macerator grinder, for in-flow disintegration of solids and fibrous materials in open channels as
downstream screening protection for sewage and sludge pumps in
wastewater treatment plants.

Construction

Twin shaft, channel macerator. Slow speed, high torque, fitted with interleaving cutters and spacers, in cutter bank lengths of 8 - 59"
(200 - 1500 mm). Designed for freestanding installation in existing channels.

Applications

Typical applications for the macerator - channel series grinder include:

  • Protection of pumps and systems in transport and treatment wastewater applications.
  • Imported sludge transfer applications.
  • Inlet works in-flow.
  • Industrial wet waste grinding and maceration.

Features

  • Robust and proven design. Low vibration and noise.
  • Available in motor sizes 2-, 3-, and 5.4 HP (1.5-, 2.2- and 4.0 kW).
  • Can be configured for connection to inlet and outlet flanges in pipeline installations (A02C - A06C only).
  • Hardened cutter tips at low running speeds ensures greatly reduced wear rates.
  • Available without drive unit.
  • Shafts operate at different speeds (typically 50 to 80 rpm) which creates a tearing action on solids by the cutters.

Motor / drives

  • Built-in overload protection prevents damage to the macerator.
  • Low running speeds reduces wear, for a longer working life, which extends the periods between routine maintenance - important in heavy cake applications.

Performance

Capacities up to 2752 gpm (625 m3/h) for Standard models, 3752 gpm (850 m3/h) for Hi-Flow models, and 5000 gpm (1150 m3/h) for Extra Hi-Flow models
