In the article the questions of minimization of expenses for the modernization of the biological treatment plant of urban wastewater are considered. The main technologies of deep biological treatment of urban wastewater from organic substances, nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as the modern pumping, mixing, aeration and air-blowing equipment necessary for their implementation are given. It is shown that the use of modern technologies of nitrification-denitrification and biological dephosphatization without internal recirculation of the sludge mixture allows to significantly reduce the capital costs for modernization and increase the energy efficiency of urban wastewater treatment plants.
